Yes Its official. On November the 11th at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow The Skoog will take the stage! This will be the first performance of Nigel Osborne’s composition “Afro Scottish” commissioned by the Tapestry Partnership to celebrate the culmination of the NESTA funded new instrument project. Featuring children from the schools that have played such a big role in developing The Skoog (Park, Calaiswood, Mavisbank, Kirkshaws, Hillside, James Mcfarlane, Withchill, Woodstock Redburn and Kildrum).

The performance will be part of the Tapestry conference held on November 11th and 12th. The performance will feature the Tapestry Radio Jazz Orchestra, and 1000 children from schools across Scotland. The show will also showcase other elements of the NESTA project related to the Action Research lead by the Music in the Community program and The University of Edinburgh.

With invaluable support from the Edinburgh University Music in the Community students we are are really looking forward to this, and we hope you can come and share what promises to be a really inspiring day.
